I know it's been quite a while since my last post, but it's better late than never right? Since my last post not much has changed...I've been to the ortho a couple of times checking my retainers and my bite. At my first appointment I noticed one of my teeth at the bottom seemed like it was further out than the others. It didn't quite align with the rest. I pointed it out to my doc and he adjusted my retainers and I picked them up the next week and it corrected that one tooth. Kinda amazing! There really is no better feeling than knowing that I will not have to endure the pain that many of my followers have had to go through...jaw surgery. My ortho said as long as I keep my retainers in nightly and force my bottom teeth to stay aligned the way they are everything should be ok. My jaw doesn't pop, it doesn't hurt and by xrays look good. I have my last and final appointment in October.
Everything seems to be going ok...I don't mind wearing my retainer at all...My speech as improved with it on and I'm feeling much more confident while I wear it. I can only drink water with my retainers on...so when I'm out I'm forced to take them out if I want to eat and drink anything but water. Keeping them clean is easy...I just brush them every morning along with my teeth. My sister jokes saying they look like dentures! haha! It's been fun scaring little kids with my retainers! LOL...I was holding my friends 3 year old and I randomly pulled my retainers out and he was freaked out! It was too funny! Then he was just curious and kept coming back to see more!
I am very very good about wearing my retainers every night...the last thing I want to do is end up in braces again by having my teeth move around. I'm super happy with my smile and my bite :D I'm constantly smiling and I'm not scared to show it off!
Seems like things are finally starting to fall in place for me...I recently got promoted in my job and also celebrated my one year anniversary with the BF :) I've found someone to share my life with and I love it! I'm surrounded by wonderful friends and family and I'm soooo excited for what's to come.
